Yet I keep asking the same question. Are we any better off on D this year than last? We have NO offensive defensemen. You can say Tyutin is, but he can't quarterback a powerplay and the only difference between this season and last is we replaced Poti with Ward. A toss up as far as offensive numbers are concerned.

Additionally, while many of the posts have talked about leaving room for youth, Ranger fans need to accept that this team is truly not that young. Shanahan, Jagr, Nylander, Straka, etc. are all on the ends of their careers. If we have these players playing well, we need to make a run while we still can. Leetch would be just the person to do that with. Who better to teach youth and veterans to win in New York than one of a handful that have ever done it.

Plus, Ozo is out of the picture. Malik/Rosy, Kaspar/Toots are set pairs. Are you set to rest the laurels of your powerplay and lone offensive defenseman on Karel Rachunek? Let Leetch play with Ward as the final pairing and keep Rachunek as the 7th. Staal can benefit from a year in the farm and though we like Pock and Richter, their time will come. We need to take advantage of the way our veterans have played.
