The Devils have completely changed the way the man plays hockey. It's not necessarily a bad thing. But he's become a decent two-way player and a fantastic distributor of the puck. His problem? He doesn't play with enough talent to have that part of his game be as effective as it should be. That improved with Lokti. He needs a skilled line mate that can finish.

I think the days of Kovy scoring massive amounts 5 on 5 are over. He's not that player anymore. You routinely see him gain the zone with fantastic dekes and all of a sudden he passes up an open shot in favor of a shot from the point.

The Devils have made Kovy a "team guy." Those guys don't score 25 goals a year 5 on 5.
