I am not really sure any of those are a good basis for determining suspensions.

1. No history just means a player hasn't been disciplined, doesn't mean he isn't dirty or didn't intend to hurt someone.
2. No penalty on the play doesn't mean anything considering some of the horrendous calls the refs have missed and/or made, especially this year.
3. Injury should not play a role in suspensions.

Either way, probably would have been smarter for lupul to keep his mouth shut.
