The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of Raffi Torres. He's been a very strong even strength producer, and brings all the cliches that Tortorella loves.

Here's how his ESP/60 compares to Rangers over the last 5 seasons:

2012-13
RICK NASH 2.77
RAFFI TORRES 2.12
CARL HAGELIN 2
BRAD RICHARDS 1.82
DEREK STEPAN 1.69
MARIAN GABORIK 1.35

2011-12
MARIAN GABORIK 2.43
CARL HAGELIN 2.4
BRAD RICHARDS 1.92
RAFFI TORRES 1.81
ARTEM ANISIMOV 1.72
DEREK STEPAN 1.69
RYAN CALLAHAN 1.64

2010-11
MARIAN GABORIK 2.22
WOJTEK WOLSKI 2.04
RYAN CALLAHAN 2.04
ARTEM ANISIMOV 1.98
BRANDON DUBINSKY 1.93
ERIK CHRISTENSEN 1.86
DEREK STEPAN 1.84
SEAN AVERY 1.68
RAFFI TORRES 1.62
ALEXANDER FROLOV 1.63

2009-10
MARIAN GABORIK 2.9
VINNY PROSPAL 1.92
BRANDON DUBINSKY 1.85
RAFFI TORRES 1.81
ERIK CHRISTENSEN 1.74
ARTEM ANISIMOV 1.69

2008-09
NIKOLAI ZHERDEV 2.49
NIK ANTROPOV 2.1
RAFFI TORRES 1.92
SCOTT GOMEZ 1.92
RYAN CALLAHAN 1.9
SEAN AVERY 1.88

His top linemates over those seasons:
2012-13: Matthew Lombardi (34.4%), Kyle Chipchura (33.8%)
2011-12: Daymond Langkow (40.3%), Kyle Chipchura (27.5%)
2010-11: Manny Malhotra (74.9%), Jannik Hanson (58.7%)
2009-10: Jakub Voracek (35.9%), Derrick Brassard (28.0%)
2008-09: Mike Peca (49.7%), Jared Boll (33.8%)

I'm impressed.
