Well, a good team with good depth will be just as good, just watch the Kings last year. Kopitar although very close, is not a PPG center. Bruins don't have that PPG center either when they won the cup.
I think we are not far that off from having a team capable of winning the cup. A big top 9 winger and a big top 4 D and everything can happen. If Price goes from decent to dominant, i really like our chance this season so I don't mind sacrificing a couple of picks or prospect to get the players we need. Not every 2nd pick will become a Subban.
I'm not saying we should trade all pick or get rid of Tinordi, Beaulieu or Kristo but if we can get a big piece, then why not. A team is manageable year after year but if we can play good hockey all year long and do well against top teams like Pittsburgh and the Bruins, then why not be more aggressive?
