If I were a Flames fan, I'd honestly sit back and come to grips with the fact it is going to be at LEAST 4-5 years before they even start talking playoffs. One or two top picks are nice but as the Oilers/Leafs/Blue Jackets/Isles/Panthers have shown, it can take YEARS before you're a "good" team again (if ever!).
This must be from an Oilers fan. It does not in any way take that long to build a playoff team. Those are inept franchises with far bigger problems. The leafs are potentially the only exception there.
