That's not what Julien said. He said he was similar to Ribeiro and Perreault offensively and that it would be duplication to have him now. He never said that Plekanec is defensively the same as Perreault. I saw Plekanec in preseason games in 2002 and also in 2003 and I assure you he's much better defensively than Perreault. He has good positional sense. He's also physically stronger than both both Perreault and Ribeiro and he skates better than they do.
