Otherwise I think with the reduced cap you can spend that money more wisely.
edit - Actually one a 1 year deal I'm fine with a bit more money spent. He'd be great with a bunch of OZ starts and PP time.
You'd think he'd be willing to re-sign for the same deal - 2 years, 3.5mil/yr - given that he's two years older and the cap will be lower.
