I was cruising the International Hockey Forums looking for bio fodder when I was reading something that altered my perspective greatly.

Apparently, though I really shouldn't be too surprised, during the late 60's and early 70's, (1967/68/69/71 are cited), the Soviets purposely lost some international medal games to Czechoslovakia so the Czechs could also medal, for the sake of communist solidarity, a pr maneuver for the world to see.

Make me now look differently at those Czech teams of the era.

Anyone have anymore info or links for further details?
