He improved the most out of all our prospects in Houston, imo. Originally, he started as the third line center and was more in a checking role. He is very good in the faceoff circle, understands the center position defensively, can PK, and competes hard for pucks. Over the past month, especially when he was put into a top 6 role and 1st PP, he was arguable the best forward most nights. Maybe not offensively but getting good chances every night while also playing well defensively. He is not the fastest skater but is definitely no slouch. He has a sneaky shot, decent hands, and can make some nice plays.
He has a strong core and understands the cycle game but still is learning how to protect the puck. He does not have elite offensive abilities but seasoning in the AHL will allow him to grow that side of his game.
In short, he's for sure a 3rd line center with a strong chance of being a 2nd line center who will play PK and take on leadership role. All depends on how his offensive game comes along.
Aeros coach Torchetti loved him because he absolutely hates losing any puck battles.
