Was it not the defense that Leighton rode to game 6 of the Finals?

Does this only work in one direction?

I actually thought Bryzgalov was neither good or bad. He didn't make any absolutely amazing saves but he didn't really let in any stinkers either. He plays behind one of the league's worst defense groups so naturally his statistics are going to suck. There's a reason why the Flyers have gone through 29 goalies in the past ~7 seasons.

The problem people have with Bryzgalov is his quirky nonchalant attitude that goes along with his highly inflated contract. They see a highly paid goalie have a bad game and is able to shrug it off as a bad outing and they think he doesn't compete hard enough.

Consequently players with a calm demeanor such as; Alexander Semin, Phil Kessel, Sergei Gonchar are always looked down upon in favour of "heart and soul" Canadian grinder-types.
100% agree.
