For 2 reasons....Habs plenty deep at center now. Couturier will have trouble scoring in NHL.

If I'm trading Beaulieu, or any defense prospect, it's part of a package to bring in an established top pairing guy, not some other prospect. Also not giving Leblanc away for nothing just because he got hurt this year and hasn't bounced back.

We already have 4 good centers (Plekanec, Eller, Desharnais, Galchenyuk).

We already have depth at the wings (Ryder, Gionta, Pacioretty, Bourque, Prust, Gallagher, one of the above centers).

MTL needs to improve their defense and that's about it right now.
i know we don't need centers right now. But the point of the trade is to get
a better, bigger and younger center line for our small wingers coming up like
Hudon, Kristo, Archambault. also Gallagher(even if he's already there).
they would give us the chance to trade a small centermen like DD or Pleky since
they are older and make our team deeper with a better future. You can get a
decent winger for Pleky or DD in 1 or 2 years. Leblanc is unlikely making the team
anyway unless we put him as winger but i don't think thats going to happen.
