I could care less what he does next year. He can score 50, he wasn't going to be a New York Rangers player beyond the draft this summer anyway.

Alot of you guys need to realize that his salary space was going to be needed to ensure that we keep our RFA's AS WELL as add the lost depth in the Nash trade.

Keeping Gaborik beyond this season was never the plan.

As for knowing if this trade helps or huts any time soon? We will know if we win 8 of our remaining 12 games. That is something we have not been able to do WITH gaborik in the line up.

We will know if our offence at ES and on the PP starts to produce in key spots where it wasn't getting the job done while Gabby was here.

I look at this Rangers team today and feel that they are a tougher team to play against than the were before the deadline. They are deeper at forward and on D and grittier with just Clowe. Dorsett brings that element to another level.

If Gaborik was our only go to guy up front, I would have serious reservations, but he was a square peg in a round hole this season and it wasn't getting or going to get any better.

And while Nash may not be the better goal scorer, he is more impactful on a game to game basis. He creates and generates more offensive opportunites than Gabby does and as such the numbers have reflected that.

I wish Gaborik nothing but good things. He clearly wasn't happy here this year and we never heard a peep about it. He is as stand up a player as there is in this league. But the fact remains his shlef life here in NY was expiring, we just pulled the trigger sooner than I expected and the return was as good as you are going to get.
