The top 5 this year is miles ahead of any top 5 in a long time. A player like Jones looks to be better than Subban, so the only reason to ever consider trading a player like Jones is to bring in more certainty and less development time in an already established superstar like Subban.

You won't be getting into the top 5 with a quantity for quality trade.

The only assets Montreal has that will entice a lottery pick team to give up their pick are: Subban and Galchenyuk. The potential of these top 5 picks is just too great.
