Based on what exactly? The Hockey News future watch rankings by 15 head scouts and GMs had him as the 21st best prospect in the game. Wilson was ranked 62nd by the way.

Since he is no longer Caps' property Caps fans want to run Forsberg down now for some reason as a very flawed player while the likes of Wilson and Latta for God's sake are future locks as important pieces.

I like Erat as a player and think he will be a nice addition to the team now in the next few seasons but I have now doubt that Forsberg, just like Reilly, Kreider, Brodin, and Reinhart, the 4 guys either side of Forsberg in THN ranking could have brought back more, if only a better prospect, much better actually, than Latta.
