I've had games like that - it's usually where I don't quite have the focus that I need.

What I (try to) do to combat that is something that Jim Craig would do - I break the game into five-minute segments, and in my mind, I reset the score at the end of each segment. It helps me stay motivated (even in games where we're up or down by a lot).
