Although Balej had four goals, and played a great game, the best forward out there today was Plekanec. They are good friends, and it is translating very nice onto the ice. Plekanec is very reliable in the defensive zone, and could be a nice checking line centre down the road. Even Hossa picked up his game today, and showed a little effort, but he still has a way to go until Montreal takes another look at him.

The best player on the ice for the Dogs though was Beauchemin. Hamilton can rely on him to stop just about anyone coming down the wing, and had quite a few good hits today. Hainsey played great again, more so in the defensive zones, as he saved the day at least two times. Traverse has to go, as he is absolutely stinking up the place, and Dykhuis' multiple errant passes ended up in a goal being given up.

JF Damphousse had a good game, but Mikael Tellqvist, wow. He is one excellent goaltender, and should be a good number one for the Leafs in a couple years.

Again, the wider lines made for a better game, mostly for the long passes that create more odd man rushes.
