My sense was that the Bobrovsky move was motivated, in part, by the belief that Bryzgalov was one of those goaltenders that wanted a yeoman's share of the work. Obviously the condensed schedule changes things a bit this year--but I don't think you bring in Leighton as the backup with the idea of playing him 25+ times a year.

Anyway, I think it is obvious that Mason will get more starts than Leighton / Boucher would have, but I'm not sure there's a point in "resting" Bryzgalov for the remaining 10 games of the year. (If you sit him that much, it is because you want to get a look at Mason, not because Bryzgalov is tired).
