I remember him having plenty of decent games on short rest and bad games following days off. My sense was that the Bobrovsky move was motivated, in part, by the belief that Bryzgalov was one of those goaltenders that wanted a yeoman's share of the work. Obviously the condensed schedule changes things a bit this year--but I don't think you bring in Leighton as the backup with the idea of playing him 25+ times a year.

Anyway, I think it is obvious that Mason will get more starts than Leighton / Boucher would have, but I'm not sure there's a point in "resting" Bryzgalov for the remaining 10 games of the year. (If you sit him that much, it is because you want to get a look at Mason, not because Bryzgalov is tired).
