Good god, man. People thought the same thing about the Sedins, Penner, Richards, Getzlaf, and Perry, and they all turned out to be fantastic NHL players. It just takes hard work. Aspects that should turn you off of a player include attitude, stickhandling, and awareness. I can't remember ever seeing a prospect turn it around when they've lacked one or more of those skills.
