This Markov is still a solid middle pairing 5 on 5 defender and PP monster though.
He's lost a step skating wise. I think part of his problems have to do with adapting to what he acn currently do, most goals he's been at fault on he reacted in a way in which he still had that "5th gear" to get back and he couldn't. He still reads the play like nobody's business, just can't be as agressive at the offensive blueline.
He is still a 6 mil calibre NHL defenseman and a top 15-20 guy overall. You put him and Subban out there together and you can see how dangerous both are.
