The thing you have to consider is: This is Montreal. Taxes are higher. Pressure is higher. Taxes mean you have to overpay by AT LEAST 10%, probably 15-20%. Pressure can't be accounted for, but so far Price has shown he can withstand the pressure cooker, which most guys prove they can't after a few years. For those reasons, I think Price's contract is ok. Not in relation to his level of play, but in relation to what he represents for the team, and for all the off-ice stuff.
Cost of living is less though. I remember an article saying Montrealers would have the same money left compared to the average states (after taxes and buying stuff).
