Oscar Klefbom

If anybody’s throwing out defenceman Oscar Klefbom’s name as possible bait to get a high-end forward, it’s a total non-starter.

The Oilers love Klefbom and feel he can be an NHLer next season, with no pit stop in Oklahoma City.

They seriously feel Minnesota Wild rookie Jonas Brodin’s Swedish League (Farjestads) defence partner is top two material and the obvious long-term partner for Justin Schultz.

We know what draft analyst Craig Button thinks of Klefbom. “I think he could be another Brent Seabrook,” said the former NHL GM.

Do you think Klefbom is NHL ready right now? Should Edmonton plan on him being in the top six? Should they plan on him as a No.7-8? Should they plan to send him to OKC first? The decision on him affects who we go after on D this summer.

Personally, I think you see how he does in training camp with the mindset that he is going to OKC unless he heavily outplays Potter for the No.6 or 7 spot. What do you guys think?
