Well, you've been around long enough to know the Rangers are capable of missing the playoffs in any season

Even in those "golden years"

91-92: Presidents trophy, 2nd round loss
92-93: Miss the playoffs
93-94: Win Cup
94-95: Squeak into the 8th spot in another weird lockout season

I see no reason to demand consistency from the coach when the Rangers have been an inconsistent organization since I started watching them 25 years ago.
