Smith has good skill. Basically if you were to draw up a 3rd line center, you'd get Smith. He's not easily available.
Smith isn't easily available. Hemsky is a lot better than Greening, and probably has higher value despite his injuries/contract.
1: edmonton has no shortage of skilled players to work with greening.
2: greening scored 17 with spezza last year. He has 8 in 41 (a 16 goal pace) this year without spezza (and karlsson). He can legitimately pot 15-20 regardless of his linemates IMO.
