I just can't see them re-signing Stalberg and then trading him a year later. The Hawks don't have the room to give Stalberg the deal that other teams will probably offer.

"A fair deal?" I'm guessing you are using that term to mean, a fair deal FOR THE HAWKS. A fair deal for the player is whatever one team will pay them. You can't blame Bickell & Stalberg for going to the highest bidder when they have been two of the best values in the NHL this year.

I don't really think the Hawks would have certainly let Sharp or Seabrook go or traded one of them, but I do think they would have thought about it. Those guys are only getting worse at this point. Though they are still good players.
