You're speaking autonomy in technical terms as written. I am stating the reality of what actually occurs in pro team sports where expectation to make commitments and sacrifice for the entire team is required.

This is a big money pressure environment. One where you get required treatment when the club says so.

The only situation in which the club is saying not to get treatment right away is if you are in playoffs or playoff race.
