Canucks are not paying three centers five million, either, so forget about Roy.

Booth is apparently done, so the Canucks have a little over $5.7m to spend. That would just cover Roy in a non-cap league. It doesn't cover Tanev and a fourth line.

Really, since they can't shed Luongo, the Canucks need the Sedins to retire or accept a trade. Then they could sign Roy, Tanev and a fourth line and maybe even add a FA to replace Booth.
I think under the circumstances, Corrado and his 599,000 cap hit and right handedness was going to get a shot anyway.

As for Booth, I think his injuries sunk him this year in the eyes of management. They want to dress the best team they can for 64.3 million dollars, and we can't possibly factor in 4.25 million for a player who may or may not even play 40 games in a given season.

But then we also have Ballard and a goalie to move. Lack has a 1 way deal starting next year, and while I like Ballard, especially this shortened season and last playoffs, he is being horribly misused by our coaching staff and is as good as gone...either traded for a secondish round pick, or amnestied.

With the three of them gone, we have over $15,000,000 to spend signing Roy, Raymond, Tanev, 4 warm body forwards, calling up Corrado and Lack, and signing a depth (7th...ish) Dman or two.

Unless I missed a step, I don't think it's over the top to expect to retain Roy.

SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,218,370; BONUSES: $0

Also, Capgeek was unable to move Luongo, so for some reason, we retained...$122,000 in cap space, so really we have 200K for injury call ups. As with Lu, I'd expect some small interest in Ballard, and possibly even Booth, so if we can get a pick or a prospect, or even a minimum wage kind of player, I'd be satisfied that way instead.
