Bringing in a "proven playoff goalie" doesn't guarantee us getting into the playoffs. So why bother?
It's got nothing to do with a "proven playoff goalie" and more to do with what type of goalie you have and need for your situation. Some goalies thrive with lots of shots,the pressure from it and find ways to win. Others,stuggle with it a bit and tend to be more inconsistent.
What does Dunham from last year have to do with any of this? This is a new season and to be honest they didn't make the playoffs last year so he didn't get the job done. Granted he wasn't the main reason the didn't make it but nevertheless the didn't make it. So why bring it up? If anything it helps prove that Dunham at his best isn't good enough to carry this team to the playoffs.
