Well sure, maybe the overabundance of LW's isn't as glaring if you consider that Nash might be better at RW. However, it doesn't matter. Trading Staal for Skinner would turn the Rangers into a worse team, it isn't happening. Skinner isn't fit for playing hockey the way Torts will require of him and the defense would be downright mediocre without Staal, as it has been with him gone.

If Staal is to be traded for an upgrade up front, it would be for a player that would fit right into Tort's system, not someone you hope would make room for himself there. Physical, good skater and solid two-way play. Is Skinner that kind of player? How the hell does someone manage to get a -20(!) in 41 games?
