Remember that elite scorer Tyson Nash?
The number of players who pot 20-30 in the WHL, or 20 in the AHL is a large one. But that doesn't mean you have any legit NHL offensive upside. Nash for example scored more goals in one WHL season than he did in his NHL career which spanned 374 games. Guys in junior and the AHL get more minutes with more skilled player, powerplay time, etc, not to mention scoring 20+ goals as a 20 year-old in junior isn't a huge feat considering all of your competition is at most your age and like 90% is younger than you.
Get to the NHL and you are playing 3rd/4th line minutes, no powerplay time (or very little) lesser skilled line mates, much more skilled opposition, etc. To expect the numbers to translate over from juniors or the AHL to the NHL just because he scored in juniors or the AHL is just setting the bar way to high. No one ever said this guy was going to be a goal scorer, he just got hot for the playoffs (really, for like 8 games if I'm not mistaken) and now we are expecting far to much.
