Yea and then a few years ago it happened again I believe. In the August home stretch, there was a 5 game series at Fenway (a four game series that had a double-header because of an earlier rainout) and I think the same thing happened. Sox lost all 5 in pretty spectacular fashion and that brought back all the "Boston Massacre" headlines. I can't think of what year, maybe I'm wrong
