Colborne is a big body that is determined to crack the Leafs line up on a permanent basis. Is he going to look up to Steckel or guys like Lecavalier and Staal and try to add that into his game?

Jordan Staal's role on the Pens was never to be a point producing guy. All he was asked to do was be solid on the ice for 20 mins while producing 45-50 points.

The reason he asked to be traded was because he was behind Crosby/Malkin.

Colborne wants to model his game to be a solid player for the Leafs that wins faceoffs, plays on the PK, and contributes offensively-----> The role Staal had on the Pens.
Model is the key word, yes. If anything I admire Joe for knowing what type of player he feels comfortable being. That's the tough part for some players, all expect to be top 6 players, but a willingness to accept a lesser role speaks to his maturity. He had one of the best + - for the Marlies this year, and he chipped in offensively too. #3C 2 way Center is a great goal to have on the Leafs, and a nice fit for our team.
