I agree on his thoughts of Kovalchuk to an extent. I don't think this was close to what Kovalchuk could've played, and he admittedly didn't have a strong season. I was looking for more from him to be honest.

But yes, Bernier had the best season for what it is expected of each player. Elias had the best season as the best forward, but still, Elias could've been better. Same goes for Kovalchuk who is likely the second best forward, but he definitely could've been better.

Bernier, to me, played above and beyond expectations and was one of the best forwards consistently, along with Carter. Gionta as well.
