Sure he'd be too small now but it would take him 2 to 4 years to make the team. At that point who knows what our D might look like. I can see Subban become a good puck mover and PP player, which would be good to develop as Markov is going to be moving closer to retirement at that point.

Besides its important to pick a player you think will make the NHL, not a player who's upside you think would be useful for the team. Think Simon Gagne vs Eric Chouinard - the Habs needed a big centerman but had no need for a smallish left winger. The rest is history, sadly.

Indeed, but really Tampa needs much more than ''moar forwards!!'' to truly get better. Drouin is very lucky to start his career playing with the likes of Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis (especially), they are going to be great mentors for him.
