Vanek is the same age as Shea Weber. 27. He has 8 or 9 more years of being in his "prime," a prime that Wilson has shown nothing to suggest that he'll match.
I will take 8 more years of Vanek and 35-40 more goals over an extra five from Colin Wilson.
Sometimes we get a little too attached to our own players, I think. It's why I see so many "Let's throw Blum in with our first pick and move into the top three...who will be able to turn down a potential top four dman that was a first round pick!" posts.
