Danish born Poul Popiel might be close to make the bottom of this list? [he was an American citizen when playing in NHL].

He played for
Boston 1965/66 (3 games),
Los Angeles 1967/68 (1 game + 3 Playoff),
Detroit 1968/70 (94 games + 1 playoff)
Vancouver 1970-1972 (116 games).
Edmonton 1979-1980 (10 games).

Had one really great season for Vancouver in 1970-71 (78 games, 10G 22A, +9).

So its at least 7 years, and maybe 8-9 based on when he was send from Vancouver to AHL in in 1971 or 1972 and when he played these 10 games for Edmonton (1979 or 1980?).
