This was NOT a hockey play. It was intent to injure. When you hit someone who is not looking, It's intent to injure. Plain and simple. How is it viewed any different than hitting a guy from behind. He's not ready for the hit, can't brace himself, doesn't see the other guy........ do these things sound familiar? Bottom line is if you hit a guy who isn't looking, it's intent to injure and dirty. There is no such thing as a "clean hockey play" in that instance. Suspension deserved.
