What we want is a big player with offensive specialist ability and a good shot but, these type of players happen to be very rare and expensive. Cammy has one year left on a 6mil contract, we will have no problems paying Subban, Eller, etc. next year.
Clowe is not a replacement for Ryder and Horton won't sign in Montreal. We don't have any players to replace Ryder on our current team. I am all for getting bigger and tougher but we're an offence-oriented team. This is now where a lot of our success is from. I had proposed packaging DD in the deal, more of a lateral move for size but big improvement in terms of team needs. Calgary desperately needs centres. DD + Moen + 3rd/Pateryn. Size, centre, prospect.
Does anyone know of any available players that are currently; defensively capable, offensive PP-specialists, over 5'10, not overly expensive, not too old and have a good shot?
Don't know about that, Ryder and Clowe are both Newfs.
