Niko Hovinen, who played in the AHL with Oklahoma City and the ECHL with Trenton, has signed with Metallurg Novokuznetsk of the KHL. Hovinen, 25, began the season on a contract with Philadelphia before being placed on termination waivers, but before the Flyers could buy him out, he was claimed by the Oilers. In 9 games in the AHL, Hovinen posted a 3.26 GAA and a Save PCT of .884. Originally a 5th round pick, 132nd overall, of Minnesota in 2006, the 6'06" goaltender is scheduled to become an UFA this summer.

Dan O'Toole: "So if I have this right, only acceptable goal celebration in NHL is to put hands at your sides and then feel shame."
