IMO the ones that really strike me are Mario Lemieux and Nicklas Lidstrom.
lemieux example - backbreaker goal against U.S. 2002 olympics, he foregoes the pass and lets it go to kariya (i think)

lidstrom example - 2002 playoffs, shoots that longbomb into cloutier from centre ice, game 3, in the middle of a 'sweep'

those were some pivotal decisions i think.
