IF, and that's a big if, he begins to under-perform, dump him, the cap will be so high by then that a 1 mil penalty will be almost irrelevant.
If brodeur can play being this old, so can lu, especially considering he has a style of play that can keep him around, not like Brodeur with the small pads, etc
No they get it. Just no person in their right mind would want to spend money to have a player NOT play for their team.
Luongo is a big risk with that contract. Especially at the price Gillis was asking. If Vancouver fans still can't see that, then I don't know what to say. Gillis played his hand and lost. Give him credit for playing the hand out, but he lost.
Gillis will have to take a bad contract back to move Luongo. Unfortuantely Luongo's play this year didn't help his situation at all.
35 million dollars for 8 years is a very tough pill to swallow, especially when that pill comes will having to give up a valued asset like a top pick or prospect.
Vancouver fans have to forget getting any kind of value back for Luongo. That ended last summer. It's done, Luongo is either gone for very litte or he's going to be stuck on a team that doesnt want him.
Which is a shame, because he deserves much better than what Vancouver has shown him.
