Hard to definitively tell from the replay but it looked like the puck spun too much for Vlasic to lift that over the glass without it nicking Carter's shoulder.

Nevertheless, good teams take advantage of breaks.

I think the over-the-glass rule has outlived its usefulness. Or it at least needs to be amended for the referees to have the authority to make the determination if the player did it intentionally or not. This would be the rare judgement call that would be fairly straight forward.
