There's a reason Canadian teams try to squeeze every last ounce out of a competitive group before succumbing to a rebuild. It's about money.
So when a GM is faced with these two alternatives, undoubtedly, most go with the rational and conservative approach. As they should. Because this is about money and not delirious armchair fantasies.
So we are cheering for this team to make Aquilini more money now? Or do we want this team to win a Stanley Cup?
The Canucks will continue to suck until the day Benning, Weisbrod, Linden, and Desjardins are all fired.
