A few things:

The help argument is meaningless. Good players produce, simple as that. Malkin won a Conn Smythe with Talbot and Fedotenko even strength.

Toews has won more and has lead a cup winning team, Tavares hasn't made it out of the first round. Team or no team, that matters. One player has been there and won a Conn Smythe. Another hasn't. He may be better than Toews next year.

Tavares wasn't the Isle's best forward against the pens in the first series. Not sure how Toews was in his.

I like both players, and the poll is representative of how the majority feel here.
