How many 1st overalls in the last decade have been traded?

E.J and his return was Shattenkirk and Stewart.

Kovi as a rental brought back 3 players and a 1st as a rental.

Even the Nash return worked out great for Columbus and crippled the Rangers.

You have to give up a lot to get a 1st overall player with Yak's talent.

A fair deal would be along the lines of Myers, Foligno + 1st this year.

It sounds like a lot to give up, but realistically Edmonton has no reason to move Yak. So any team would have to overpay if they wanted him.

Make a proposal for Eberle. He would be much cheaper value wise.
Crippled the Rangers? We got great depth added to our team without the sluggish Gaborik at first I hated the trade and now I actually really like the players we got. John Moore 21 years old a great 3rd pairing defencmen
Derrick Brassard has arguably been the best player for the Rangers this postseason.
Derek Dorsett has been a great gritty 3rd line addition.
Honestly, I would take these young guys over a guy who misses numerous amounts of games a year and is going to ask for alot of $$ in 2 years when the Rangers won't have enough cap room
