Your last statement is the reason that I am happy that the Habs are bringing in Churla.

Timmins, for a guy who obviously is obsessed with his own muscles, has a tendency to draft smallish players. We dont have that mix of player types and it is hurting the franchise.

Since the beating of our forwards by Ottawa's physical DMen is still sort of fresh, lets compare the drafting history of Timmins in Montreal and Ottawa since 2003.

The standard of physicality that I am using is a DMan over 6' 3" tall. Here we go.......(NHL players bolded)

MONTREAL
O'Byrne
Dulac-Lemelin
Paquet
Fischer
Stejskal
Tinordi

6 Total Drafted by Timmins

OTTAWA
Cook
Anikeyenko
Lee (finished year in AHL after playing 22 games for TBL)
Koopman
Gryba
Blood
Wiercioch
Sdao
Cowen
Fransoo
Ceci

11 Total Drafted by Ottawa

Only ONE of Timmins D draft picks since 2003 over 6' 3" is playing for Montreal.

Three of Ottawa's D draft picks since 2003 over 6' 3" are playing for Ottawa.

This franchise needs a new direction.
