I never got that one either.

I think people mearly looked at the timing of the instigator rule being implemented and when goal scoring took a nose dive, and they tried to put two and two together.

I think getting rid of the instigator rule will help make the NHL product more entertaining, but I doubt it will affect goalscoring all that much.
