Great info all

I'm a new hockey player (I just learned to skate and the rules/how to play in late January this year) but skating backwards is something I'm working hard on learning. I really like the info in theis thread ~ there are some well thought out responses.

My experience is that getting low is where you build your stability, especially as you're picking up the pace backwards and, for me, trying to out skate people who are twice my speed by being smart about crossing over and trying not to overcommit when turning backwards, etc.

This board looks like a great place to get 411 so I'll be around. Best of luck ~ I'm going to spend the night practicing skating backwards because of this thread.
