I've heard different words used by Pednault when describing a shootout. Last year, it was more fusillade. This year, I've heard "tirs de barrages" twice. I'm sure regardless of which one is prefered, people understand what he is talking about (thus both would be correcT). I agree, fusillade sounds good (although it does sound like more of a literal translation, with some sort of military connotation).
