In addition to the weird press release from Carolina where they talked about Hofmann not signing, I've never seen a team offer critiques of the players they refused to sign on their own website before. Usually you get the standard "We were short roster spots" or "He didn't develop the way we'd envisioned", but you don't usually see this.

Honzik, the Canucks third round selection (71st overall), struggled this past season to find consistency in the QMJHL. A trade to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, combined with off-season shoulder surgery that caused him to miss training camp and the first two months of the season, didn’t help his cause. The native of Tabor, Czech Republic, faced an astonishing 11.52 shots per 20 minutes in 12/13. Honzik, 19, will re-enter the draft later this month.
esterholm, the Canucks sixth round selection (180th overall), has spent the last three seasons in Sweden’s second-tier pro league. During the 2010/11 season the Karlskrona, Sweden native produced .62 points/per-game, which then declined to .21 in 11/12 and .50 this past season.
It's a weird move. The guys already have to feel like crap, why bury them further? It would be like listing all the UFAs you don't re-sign then saying about how their numbers have declined. Odd.

Dan O'Toole: "So if I have this right, only acceptable goal celebration in NHL is to put hands at your sides and then feel shame."
